When you peer at the life of one labeled strong,
Do you see truth or what you’re told does belong?
The man that lifts poundage to the very extreme,
Is he stronger than one who lifts spirits but yet is not
seen?
The woman who manages business tasks great and small,
Stronger than she who answers the 1 am wee babies call?
A man who is steady and falters not once in his life,
Better than he who falls and must claw out of personal
strife?
One who plans and organizes a life just right,
Better than one who trudges on in life’s dark night?
To define what you’re looking for in the meaning of a word,
One must consider if the definition is crisp, twisted or
blurred.
What may be truth for me, won’t resonate with you,
But is lessens not, what one person finds to be true.
Strength is as different and unique as the come,
Found largely ingrained in the soul of each one.
So don’t label strength based on muscles or such,
It can’t be just about excess and having so much.
True strength is defined by means left unspoken,
And mastered by those who’s will is unbroken.
